Analysis of Matrin in fresh produce

Currently there is a lot of attention for the active ingredient Matrin. This is an alkaloid produced by plants of the genus Sophora and is used as an insecticide in various crops in some countries. Matrin is currently not registered in the EU as a plant protection product and therefore has an MRL of 0.01 mg/kg

Some German Retail companies have added Matrin to their Blacklist meaning that suppliers have to make sure that their produce are free from Matrin residue. Matrin is measured our multi-residu screening and can be found on Analysis list v20 for fresh produce.
